Methodology & data sources

Each ranking is stored as a JSON file in our repository. The page renders that file and shows the source name, URL, period, and last-updated date above the table.

Update policy

We refresh a ranking when the cited source publishes a new period (monthly, quarterly, or annually, depending on the source).
If the official PDF is delayed, we may use a reputable secondary report of the same release and note that on the page.
We do not backfill missing ranks with guesses. Short lists stay short and are labeled as such.
Market share or other fields are left blank when we cannot verify them.
